There are two restrooms at the zoo I would recommend- 1. The Ford Education Center, which is the big building next to Rackham Fountain towards the center of the zoo 2. The restrooms attached to Sweet Treats, and ice cream place between the Arctic Ring of Life and the giraffes. (Across from the bears).
1. FEC restrooms are gendered, but the restrooms on the second floor (which are also open to the public) are usually deserted. Lights are motion activated so if the lights are off when you walk in, you know no ones been in there for at least 10 minutes or something. 2. Sweet Treats restrooms are gender inclusive family restrooms, with stalls but the actual door to the whole restroom locks as well. There may be a line though.
